What is OneID?

OneID is a UK bank-verified digital identity service, operated by Digital Identity Net Ltd. It lets a person prove who they are online using the identity data their bank already holds, exchanged through Open Banking with the person's consent. OneID is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and is certified under the UK Digital Identity and Attributes Trust Framework.

Verification redirects the person to their own bank to log in and consent. The bank then confirms details such as verified name, date of birth, and registered address in real time, and returns them to your service. OneID does not require an identity document or a selfie, because the trust comes from the checks the bank has already carried out on its account holders.

Because it draws on UK current account holders, OneID reaches a wide base of consumers who can share bank-verified identity data with a business rather than uploading documents.

How verification works

Person chooses OneID

The customer selects OneID in your flow and is redirected to their own UK bank to log in.

Bank confirms identity on consent

After the person consents, their bank confirms details such as verified name, date of birth, and registered address in real time through Open Banking.

Signals returned to your flow

A verified result, the returned identity fields, and a full audit record flow straight into your Zenoo case.

Frequently asked questions

How do I verify a OneID identity?

The person selects OneID and is redirected to their own UK bank to log in and consent. Their bank then confirms details such as verified name, date of birth, and registered address in real time, and Zenoo returns a verified result with a full audit trail.

What data does OneID return?

OneID returns bank-verified personal details such as name, date of birth, and registered address, shared with your service on the person's consent through Open Banking.

Does OneID need a document or a selfie?

No. OneID relies on the checks a UK bank has already carried out on its account holders, so the person authenticates with their bank rather than uploading an identity document or taking a selfie.

How does OneID verification work with Zenoo?

It runs as a pre-built connector. The person authenticates with their bank through OneID and consents to share their verified data, and Zenoo returns a verified result with a full audit record.
