MitID uses a passwordless model. The person enters their chosen user ID and then approves the login with an identification method, most often the MitID app with a personal PIN and a swipe to approve, or a hardware code reader. On successful authentication, verified attributes such as name and date of birth are returned. Through the CPR matching flow, the person can also confirm and share their CPR number on consent.
