What is MitID Login?

MitID is Denmark's official digital identity solution, run through a partnership between the Danish Agency for Digitalisation (Digitaliseringsstyrelsen) and the Danish banks. It replaced the older NemID system at the end of 2021 and is the everyday login for banking, public services, and a wide range of private-sector platforms. Most adults in Denmark hold a MitID.

Verification works by the person authenticating with their MitID app, code display device, or hardware token. Once authenticated, MitID confirms the person's identity and returns verified attributes, and it can validate the person's CPR number so you know the credential belongs to the individual you are onboarding.

If you already hold the person's identity data, you can pass it in when the check launches, so the only step the customer sees is the MitID authentication. The verified result and a full audit record then flow back into your flow.

How verification works

Person authenticates with MitID

The customer confirms their identity with the MitID app, code display device, or hardware token, or you pass known data in at launch.

Identity confirmed and CPR validated

MitID returns the person's verified name, and the CPR number can be validated so the credential is tied to the right individual.

Signals returned to your flow

A verified result, the returned identity attributes, and a full audit record flow straight into your Zenoo case.
