What is Evrotrust eID?

Evrotrust is Bulgaria's national electronic identification scheme, run by Evrotrust Technologies, a qualified trust service provider supervised by Bulgaria's Communications Regulation Commission. The scheme was recognised as the country's official eID and was notified under the EU eIDAS Regulation in July 2023, which means it is legally recognised across the European Union for cross-border access to public sector online services.

Evrotrust works through a mobile app. To register, the person scans an identity document and takes a selfie, and the app runs a face match and liveness check against the document. Once registered, the person can prove their identity remotely and, because Evrotrust is also a qualified trust service provider, sign documents with a qualified electronic signature that carries the same legal weight as a handwritten one.

For a verification, the person confirms their identity in the Evrotrust app and consents to share their verified attributes. Evrotrust returns government-grade identity data such as name and date of birth, which flows into your Zenoo case with an audit record.
